The Arkansas Downhill Series is premiering its pilot event September 25-26, 2025 - part of the Eureka Springs Fat Tire Festival at Lake Leatherwood City Park in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. With more gravity fueled venues in development in Arkansas, this year's Eureka Downhill will set the precedent for a full race series to take place across the state!


REGISTration

Registration includes shuttles during Practice, Seeding, and Finals, neutral mechanics, medical support, professional event timing, complimentary post-race meal and cold beverages (21+ for adult beverages, ID required), inaugural event t-shirt, and an awards ceremony by category with prizes awarded 5 deep – all in a family-friendly festival setting!


RACE VENUE

Eureka Springs premier outdoor recreation resource, the 1600-acre Lake Leatherwood City Park features a 25-mile trail network surrounded by the spring-fed Lake Leatherwood – and a proper Ozark Mountain setting for our pilot event. A long list of available amenities at the park include cabins, dry camping, & RV sites and the sports field facility will double as the race venue for the weekend.

COURSE INFO

Featuring OGre Run at Lake Leatherwood Bike Park - the original downhill line in the region. Off the gate, the course starts with a series of 180 berms before straight lining into a small step down followed by a large tabletop. A section of ridgeline offers some relief (or the opportunity to smash some pedals), before a wide righthand turn sends racers into the iconic drop zone. This zone features three cascading drops – with a final Big Hit that gaps Miners Rock Trail and a likely crowd of spectators below. A left turn sends racers across a power line and into a rhythm section where speeds will increase. As course development evolves, we will provide updates on how it finishes up.


SHUTTLED PRACTICE

The Eureka Downhill will kick off the 2026 Fat Tire Festival, with rider Check-In and shuttled Open Practice (All Categories) from the Lower Turnaround to the Lake Leatherwood Bike Park South Hub from 2pm to 6pm on Friday, September 25th, and from 7am to 8:30am on Saturday, September 26th.

  • During Open Practice, neutral mechanical support will be available at the Event Venue and medical support will be available on the course.

  • Competitors may ONLY practice during posted Open Practice times.

  • Competitors are encouraged to use complimentary Event Shuttles for Open Practice times. The Lower Turnaround for Event Shuttles is accessible by bike from the Event Venue.

  • Self-shuttling and is not allowed from the Lower Turnaround. Self-shuttlers must use ballfields parking lot for pickup and not impede Event Shuttles during drop off.


SEEDING & FINALS

Following Open Practice, all competitors will take ONE shuttled Seeding run and ONE shuttled Finals run on Saturday, September 27th.

  • NO self-shuttling will be allowed during Seeding and Finals.

  • Upon finishing Seeding, competitors will download seeding times and have a short intermission to prepare for Finals.

  • Once Seeding Order is announced, competitors will be shuttled back to the top of the staging area according to their wave/category.

  • Finals will be staged by category from the Slowest to Fastest Seeding times.

  • During Seeding and Finals, medical support will be available on the course and at the Event Venue.

  • Athletes missing their posted start time for Seeding and/or Finals may be disqualified.

ADDITiONAL INFO

  • Full-face helmets ARE REQUIRED. Knee/elbow pads, gloves, back pads, etc. are strongly encouraged and may become mandatory at Arkansas Downhill Series' discretion.

  • Valid DH race plate required to gain access to shuttles and course during DH Practice, Seeding, and Finals. Separate spectator access points will be identified for friends, family, and fans.

  • All participants will be required to sign a waiver of liability prior to competing in the Arkansas Downhill Series. Athletes under 18 years old need parental signature on all waivers. 

  • Racing Age is your age as of 12/31/2026.

  • In late September, the temperature in Eureka Springs typically ranges from 57°F to 74°F and is rarely below 45°F or above 84°F.

  • Arkansas Downhill Series events are rain or shine, and refunds will not be issued except under extreme circumstances. The Event Organizer reserves the right to adjust the schedule due to any unforeseen circumstances including rescheduling the event to a future date.
